  • Abenteuer Costa Rica, Abenteuertourismus, Pferde, Reiten

What to pack?

  • 2 pairs of lightweight cotton pants
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 5 T-shirts
  • 1 sweatshirt (it CAN get cool in the evenings)
  • 1 swimsuit
  • 1 pair of sandals (Teva-type sandals work well)
  • 1 pair of sturdy hiking shoes that can get wet and muddy, and STAY wet.
  • 1 lightweight, scrunchable hat or cap
  • 1 lightweight, waist-length rain jacket (it won't keep you dry in a heavy downpour, but it'll keep you warm. You CAN get hypothermic in the rain forest!)
  • Bandanas, clips, barrettes to ty up hair (no electricity for creating hairdoes at Selva Bananito Lodge!)
  • Non-electric shaving equipment
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Deodorant, toothpaste & toothbrush
We will ask that you use our own biodegradable shampoo/soap. If you must use your own body and hair care products, please make sure they are fully biodegradable.
  • Mosquito repellant
  • Binoculars
  • Camera with spare film and batteries
  • Undergarments
  • Socks, including knee-high socks for wearing under rubber boots (to prevent rubber boots from chafing lower leg).
  • Pajamas
  • SEVERAL pairs of socks, lightweight (your feet will get wet a lot, and you may appreciate at least having dry socks handy.)

Additional Notes:

It is a good idea to carry a notarized copy of your passport or birth certificate when you travel in Costa Rica. Keep these separate from the originals.

Shots: usually none necessary, but check with latest recommendations of the State Department.

Don't forget shoes that stay dry, for use on the airplane, in towns, etc.

1 lightweight, casual skirt might come in handy for women if they plan to spend time in any towns or cities.

If planning to take advantage of our overnight jungle camping tour and there are more than 4 people in your group planning to do so, please contact us to find out whether we need you to bring sleeping bags or tents.
